My name is Tolulope Nwegbu. I was born on the 2nd of August, 1972. I am from Ekiti state but married to an Anambra indigene. I am blessed with three children. My life is a testimony in every ramification of the word. Every step of the way, I have seen God's hand very evident in my life. I have found out that Christianity is the basis of our existence. The truth of the matter is, if you are not a Christian, you certainly don't have a personal relationship with God, and I want to say it would have been better if you didn't come to this world but even when as a Christian you fall, God in His mercy is able to restore you.

My name is Tolulope Nwegbu. I was born on the 2nd of August, 1972. I am from Ekiti state but married to an Anambra indigene. I am blessed with three children.

My life is a testimony in every ramification of the word.

Every step of the way, I have seen God’s hand very evident in my life. I have found out that Christianity is the basis of our existence. The truth of the matter is, if you are not a Christian, you certainly don’t have a personal relationship with God, and I want to say it would have been better if you didn’t come to this world but even when as a Christian you fall, God in His mercy is able to restore you.

If only we have the ability to see what is happening in the spiritual realm, we would give God all the glory every single second, every single minute and every single day of our lives. The Bible says, “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.” Ephesians 6:12 (NKJV)

As Christians, we must constantly be in the spirit, and deliberately stay away from sin. We must intentionally let God have His way in our lives all the time.

In my life, I have seen God at work every step of the way and I will like to share a few of my testimonies with you; starting from a recent close encounter I had with death but as usual, God delivered me.

It was a hot afternoon and I decided to take a nap. As usual, the power holding company was holding on to power so I thought to put the generator on because the heat was becoming unbearable.

I needed to step on the septic tank before I would reach where my generator was but before I could get there, I noticed I was going down.

The tank had caved in under me!

As I was going down, I stretched my hands and held onto the edge of the septic tank. I could see death staring at me, and I knew that I needed to get out of there so I screamed for help but nobody seemed to have heard me. Apparently, the rest of my family members were in front of the house while I was at the back. Now, I am a bit on the heavy side but miraculously, I somehow became lighter and I was able to lift myself out of that situation. I rolled away from the platform of the septic tank knowing fully well that if I held too long to that bit, it would also cave in. As I rolled off the slab and got up, I looked back and I realized that actually, where I had held onto had caved in too.

I ran out and was shouting, “Hallelujah, to God be the Glory.”

I am grateful to God that that event did not claim my life, because, thereafter, the place was evacuated and we found out how deep it was; it actually engulfed a PHCN pole. The place was actually much deeper than the length of an ordinary septic tank. It was a miracle and I am grateful to God who delivered me from the shackles of death. Praise the Lord!

I finished from FGGC Sagamu and I can remember that we had a lot of bushes around there. So on this day, I got bitten by scorpion but I lived through it. That same incident happened to some other people and it claimed their lives but I was saved. That to me was another miracle. So many near death incidents have happened to me but God saved me in all of it by His mercy; that in itself draws me closer to God.

About five years ago, we travelled home for my mother’s burial and we lodged in this hotel in my home town. As always, I was praying in the spirit, and I was led to go behind the drawer, where I found this big snake sleeping, probably it was waiting for us to sleep and then, it would strike. I just grabbed my baby and left to call the people who killed it. The people at the hotel said they had never experienced such.

I remember another experience I had when I was heavy with my last child. It was in the middle of the night and as usual, PHCN had struck. All of a sudden, three unmasked people appeared- it wasn’t like real life yet it wasn’t like a dream. They said that they had warned me not to have more children and they gave me many strange instructions. At the end, they struck me on my chest and I was screaming. It was like I was been pressed down. I wanted to get up but I couldn’t. I screamed and people from the other rooms came in. When I eventually got up, I saw the physical marks all over my body but God brought me through it all. I was very obedient during ante-natal and I adhered to every instruction given by the doctors but after that night, we just found out that the baby had turned from head first to leg first. It was after the baby had turned thus that I went into labour, so I had to be operated on. It was a big battle, they actually thought that they had lost me because I lost so much blood but God delivered me and the enemy was put to shame. Today, that child is alive and doing well.

During my NYSC days, I was kidnapped and taken away but somehow, God intervened and the kidnappers themselves pushed me out of their vehicles and drove away.

My husband and I went to the village once and on our way back, we were to enter this public transport but I just felt like we should still talk some more with the person that saw us to the park. After about thirty minutes, we boarded another bus and as we proceeded, we found out that the initial bus we would have boarded had been involved in an accident and all its passengers had died.  Their corpses were laid by the road. The accident happened between Enugu and Anambra State.

Every day is a miracle for me.

I trust God in everything that I do, and I don’t worry. I believe I got that from my mum who imparted a lot into my life. She was very prayerful, and she never worried about  anything. In fact, according to the doctors, she died of hypotension, and the people who knew her attributed it to the fact that she never showed emotions.

The joy of the Lord should be every Christian’s strength, and I believe that if anybody passes this life without any problem, there must be something he/she is not doing right. For everyone in right standing with God, you will always have challenges but you can be rest assured that you will always overcome because God is always right by His own. God is real! He is real in every sense of the word.
